Award year

1988 Texas Bluebonnet Award

Texas students in grades three through six picked Christina's Ghost by Betty Ren Wright as the 1988 Texas Bluebonnet Award winner. Their vote closed out the 1987–1988 reading year, when young readers across the state worked through a master list of 20 books selected by a Texas Library Association committee. That list also featured The Agony of Alice, The Castle in the Attic and Charlotte Cheetham. The winner and every other nominee from the 1987–1988 list are collected here.
