1989 Texas Bluebonnet Award

The 1989 Texas Bluebonnet Award went to Wait Till Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn. The Texas Library Association program asks students in grades three through six to read from a master list and then vote for a favorite, and the book with the most votes statewide wins. The 1988–1989 list held 20 titles, including Death of the Iron Horse, Dinosaurs and Every Living Thing. Every book on the list is counted as a Bluebonnet nominee for that year, and this page gathers the winner together with the rest of the list.
