1987 Texas Bluebonnet Award

The Hot and Cold Summer by Johanna Hurwitz won the 1987 Texas Bluebonnet Award, chosen by the votes of Texas children in grades three through six. Students spent the 1986–1987 school year reading from a master list that a Texas Library Association committee had put together, 20 books in all, and then cast ballots for the one they liked best. Other titles on that year's list included Baby-Sitting Is a Dangerous Job, Belinda’s Hurricane and Blair’s Nightmare. All of them appear below as nominees alongside the winner.
