2019 Texas Bluebonnet Award

The 2019 Texas Bluebonnet Award went to Sergeant Reckless: The True Story of the Little Horse Who Became a Hero by Patricia McCormick, a nonfiction picture book about a small horse that served with United States Marines during the Korean War. As in every year of the program, the winner was chosen by Texas students in grades three through six, who voted after reading books from that year's Bluebonnet list. The Texas Library Association, which administers the award, records the result among its past winners. The award has been given each year since 1981. Only the winning title is listed here for this year.
