2008 Texas Bluebonnet Award

Down Girl and Sit by Lucy A. Nolan won the 2008 Texas Bluebonnet Award, chosen by the votes of Texas children in grades three through six. Students spent the 2007–2008 school year reading from a master list that a Texas Library Association committee had put together, 20 books in all, and then cast ballots for the one they liked best. Other titles on that year's list included Ballet of the Elephants, Bella at Midnight and The Blue Ghost. All of them appear below as nominees alongside the winner.
