Award year

1993 Texas Bluebonnet Award

The Houdini Box by Brian Selznick won the 1993 Texas Bluebonnet Award, chosen by the votes of Texas children in grades three through six. Students spent the 1992–1993 school year reading from a master list that a Texas Library Association committee had put together, 20 books in all, and then cast ballots for the one they liked best. Other titles on that year's list included Aida, Big Cats and The Buck Stops Here. All of them appear below as nominees alongside the winner.
