1985 Texas Bluebonnet Award

Texas students in grades three through six picked Skinnybones by Barbara Park as the 1985 Texas Bluebonnet Award winner. Their vote closed out the 1984–1985 reading year, when young readers across the state worked through a master list of 20 books selected by a Texas Library Association committee. That list also featured A Penguin Year, The Absolutely Perfect Horse and Aldo Ice Cream. The winner and every other nominee from the 1984–1985 list are collected here.
