1983 Texas Bluebonnet Award

The 1983 Texas Bluebonnet Award went to A Dog Called Kitty by Bill Wallace. The Texas Library Association program asks students in grades three through six to read from a master list and then vote for a favorite, and the book with the most votes statewide wins. The 1982–1983 list held 20 titles, including A Very Young Circus Flyer, Animal Fact/Animal Fable and Barney and the UFO. Every book on the list is counted as a Bluebonnet nominee for that year, and this page gathers the winner together with the rest of the list.
