Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book

The Lodestar Award for Best Young Adult Book honors the year's best science fiction or fantasy book written for young adult readers. The World Science Fiction Society runs it alongside the Hugo Awards, using the same nomination and voting process, and presents it at the Hugo ceremony at each year's World Science Fiction Convention, or Worldcon. It is not itself a Hugo Award, so a book can be a finalist for both in the same year.

The award was first presented in 2018 as the WSFS Award for Best Young Adult Book and took the Lodestar name in 2019. Members of each year's Worldcon nominate and vote on the finalists. Past winners include Nnedi Okorafor's Akata Warrior, Tomi Adeyemi's Children of Blood and Bone, T. Kingfisher's A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking and Naomi Novik's The Last Graduate.

Books published for young adult readers in the field of science fiction or fantasy, appearing for the first time during the previous calendar year.
