2022 Caldecott Medal

The 2022 Caldecott Medal went to Watercress, illustrated by Jason Chin and written by Andrea Wang. Four Caldecott Honor Books were also named: Have You Ever Seen a Flower? by Shawn Harris; Mel Fell by Corey R. Tabor; Unspeakable: The Tulsa Race Massacre, illustrated by Floyd Cooper and written by Carole Boston Weatherford; and Wonder Walkers by Micha Archer. The honors range from playful stories to nonfiction history. The medal recognizes the artist behind the year's most distinguished picture book from an American publisher. The results were announced on January 24, 2022, at the American Library Association's Youth Media Awards.
