About the book
Wonder Walkers is a picture book written and illustrated by Micha Archer that follows two children on a wonder walk, an outing spent noticing the world and asking questions about it. As they wander through fog and green hills and cross a bridge over a river, the pair wonder aloud about what they see, imagining the earth as a living being whose dirt is like skin and whose wind is like breath. There is no conflict or big plot; instead the book celebrates curiosity and the pleasure of asking good questions about how nature works. Archer's collage art, built from textured and patterned papers, gives each scene rich color and depth. It is written for children about 3 to 7 years old and received a 2022 Caldecott Honor.
