What Feasts at Night is a Gothic horror novella by T. Kingfisher and the second book in the Sworn Soldier series, following What Moves the Dead. Former soldier Alex Easton travels home to a family hunting lodge in Gallacia, accompanied by Angus, a former military servant, and Eugenia Potter, a mycologist. They arrive to find that the lodge's caretaker, Codrin, has died. His daughter says it was an illness of the lungs, but some of the local villagers whisper about a moroi, a creature from folklore that sits on the chests of sleepers and steals their breath. Easton sets out to learn what is really happening in the house. The novella was a 2025 Hugo Award finalist.
