A Mirror Mended

A Mirror Mended is a fantasy novella by Alix E. Harrow and the second book in her Fractured Fables series. Zinnia Gray, who once survived her own Sleeping Beauty story, now spends her time jumping between versions of fairy tales and rescuing princesses from their fates. After many rescues, she has grown tired of fixing stories that keep repeating the same way. Then a face appears to her in a mirror: the Evil Queen from Snow White, who has learned how her own tale is supposed to end and wants Zinnia's help to change it. The novella plays with familiar fairy tales while asking whether anyone can rewrite their own ending. It was a 2023 Hugo Award finalist for Best Novella.
