2021 Texas Bluebonnet Award

Announced

The 2021 Texas Bluebonnet Award went to If I Built a School, written and illustrated by Chris Van Dusen, in which a boy named Jack imagines a school with hover desks, a robot chef and field trips to outer space. Texas students had to read at least five titles from the year's Bluebonnet list before voting, and 54,784 of them cast ballots through 1,275 schools, public libraries and homeschool groups. School closures and the February 2021 winter storm disrupted the year, and the voting deadline was extended three times. The Texas Library Association announced the result on March 5, 2021. Only the winning title is listed here for this year.
