2016 Texas Bluebonnet Award

The 2016 Texas Bluebonnet Award went to When the Beat Was Born by Laban Carrick Hill. The Texas Library Association program asks students in grades three through six to read from a master list and then vote for a favorite, and the book with the most votes statewide wins. The 2015–2016 list held 20 titles, including Always Abigail, Emily's Blue Period and Grandfather Gandhi. Every book on the list is counted as a Bluebonnet nominee for that year, and this page gathers the winner together with the rest of the list.
