The Top Book List

Award year

1991 Texas Bluebonnet Award

Texas students in grades three through six picked Aliens for Breakfast by Jonathan Etra and Stephanie Spinner as the 1991 Texas Bluebonnet Award winner. Their vote closed out the 1990–1991 reading year, when young readers across the state worked through a master list of 20 books selected by a Texas Library Association committee. That list also featured Anne Frank, Beauty and Desert Giant. The winner and every other nominee from the 1990–1991 list are collected here.
