2026 Sydney Taylor Book Award

The 2026 Sydney Taylor Book Awards, given by the Association of Jewish Libraries to books for young readers that portray the Jewish experience, were announced on January 26, 2026, at the American Library Association's Youth Media Awards in Chicago. Gold medals went to Suzy Ultman's board book Shabbat Shalom: Let's Rest and Reset in the picture book category, to Marcella Pixley's novel in verse Neshama for middle grade, and to Abby White's D.J. Rosenblum Becomes the G.O.A.T. for young adult readers. The committee also named five silver medalists: three picture books, one middle-grade novel and one young adult novel. The same announcement honored the late Uri Shulevitz with the award's body-of-work prize for his lasting contribution to Jewish children's literature.
