Best Mythology & Folklore Books for 7th Grade

Myths, legends and folktales take on new life in these books for seventh graders. The collection ranges from retold traditional stories to new novels that borrow from older storytelling traditions, drawing on West African, Latin American and other cultures. Kwame Crashes the Underworld sends its hero into a realm shaped by West African mythology, and The Dragon Slayer gathers Latin American folktales in graphic-novel form. A couple of titles are marketed to teens, so their book pages include content notes for parents who want to check first.
