Two Dogs in a Trench Coat Go to School

Sassy and Waldo are two dogs with an important job: guarding their house and their boy, Stewart. Every day, Stewart goes off to a place called school, and the dogs are sure it must be dangerous, since he comes home tired and grumpy. Determined to protect him, they come up with a plan. Dogs are not allowed in school, so they put on a trench coat and walk right into Bea Arthur Elementary as a brand-new student. Everyone is fooled except Stewart, who knows exactly who is under the coat. Julie Falatko's comic chapter book is told largely from the dogs' enthusiastic and confused point of view, with lively illustrations by Colin Jack. It is the first book in a series and was a Texas Bluebonnet Award nominee.
