The Legend of Gravity: A Tall Basketball Tale

On the outdoor courts of Milwaukee's Hillside Projects, a streetball team called the Eagles gets a new player. He can leap so high that everyone calls him Gravity, and with teammates Liquid, Left 2 Right, Sky High and Too Tall, the Eagles start winning game after game. Their success carries them to the Best of the Best tournament, where they meet the East Side Flyers, a team that no single player can beat alone. Inspired by the many gifted players who never made it to the professional leagues, Charly Palmer tells a tall tale about talent, teamwork and community, with bold, painterly illustrations full of motion. The book won the Texas Bluebonnet Award, chosen by Texas students.
