A Wizard of Earthsea: A Graphic Novel

A Wizard of Earthsea: A Graphic Novel is Fred Fordham's adaptation of Ursula K. Le Guin's classic 1968 fantasy, which he both adapted and illustrated. In the island world of Earthsea, Ged will one day be its greatest sorcerer, but as a young man known as Sparrowhawk he is gifted, proud and restless for power. In his hunger to prove himself, he meddles with forbidden secrets and releases a terrible shadow into the world, then must spend his youth learning what it means to face it. Fordham's full-color art presents Ged with the copper-brown skin Le Guin described, staying close to the spirit of the original. The adaptation won the 2026 Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story or Comic.
