2025 Nero Book Awards

The 2025 Nero Book Awards honored books by authors living in the UK and Ireland that were published between December 2024 and November 2025. Four books were shortlisted in each of four categories, and the category winners were named in January 2026: Benjamin Wood's Seascraper in Fiction, Sarah Perry's Death of an Ordinary Man in Non-Fiction, Claire Lynch's A Family Matter in Debut Fiction and Jamila Gavin's My Soul, A Shining Tree in Children's Fiction. On March 4, 2026, A Family Matter, a first novel, also won the Nero Gold Prize as the overall book of the year. The final judging panel was chaired by Nick Hornby.
