The Very Best of Gene Wolfe/The Best of Gene Wolfe

This retrospective collection brings together short fiction from across Gene Wolfe's long career, chosen to show the range of a writer best known for The Book of the New Sun. Science fiction, fantasy, horror and stories that resist easy labels sit side by side, many of them built on unreliable narrators, hidden puzzles and quiet shifts in perspective that reward a second reading. Published in Britain by PS Publishing as The Very Best of Gene Wolfe and in the United States as The Best of Gene Wolfe, the collection offers a single-volume introduction to one of the most admired writers in the field. It won the World Fantasy Award in 2010.
