About the book

Big change This book attempts to sketch some of the major changes in the United States during the first half of the 20th century. The authors testimony, however, is not just a matter between 1900 and 1950, but rather significant changes that span the entire 20th century and even to the present day. This is because the figure of America formed in this period continues through the remaining half century of the 20th century and still constitutes the characteristics of modern America. The three chapters, 18 chapters, have formed a process in which the management system of specialized large corporations, expanding government functions, and the activities of the United States as the worlds strongest nations are still playing an important role today.

Part 1 describes the many aspects of American society from the end of the 19th century to the 1900s in chapters of Chapter 5, “Old Order.” In other words, it is a long introductory one, describing in detail the previous period. The second part, “The Moment of Change,” consists of nine chapters. This section describes the changes in American society from 1900 to 1950. Explain how the life of the United States has changed, centered on important events such as innovation, mass production, the dissemination of cars, the stock market and the Great Depression, and World War II. Finally, the four chapters of Part 3 deal with the face of the “new America” created as a result of change. This section describes a new system and culture that is now fully settled and has become a characteristic of modern America.
