Saga, Volume 9

Saga, Volume 9 is the ninth collected volume of the epic science fiction and fantasy comic series by writer Brian K. Vaughan and artist Fiona Staples, gathering issues 49 to 54. The series follows Hazel, a child born to parents from opposite sides of a long war between the planet Landfall and its moon Wreath, and the makeshift family that has formed around her. In this volume the family has found a rare stretch of calm while hiding out, but their secret is at risk as a pair of tabloid journalists pursue the story of Hazel's parents and old enemies draw closer. Told partly through Hazel's own retrospective narration, the series is known for its inventive alien worlds, sharp humor and emotional storytelling. This volume closed the series' first half before a long hiatus and was a 2019 Hugo Award finalist.
