Map of Dreams

Map of Dreams is the first short story collection by M. Rickert, gathering stories first published in magazines alongside a new title novella. Rickert's fiction blends fairy tale, myth and domestic life, telling quiet and often unsettling stories about mothers and children, grief, faith and the thin line between ordinary days and the uncanny. Her prose is lyrical and precise, and many of the stories leave their mysteries partly unexplained, trusting readers to sit with what is strange. Published by Golden Gryphon Press, the collection won the World Fantasy Award for best collection in 2007.
