Lore Olympus, Vol. 1

Lore Olympus, Vol. 1 collects the opening episodes of Rachel Smythe's popular webcomic, a modern retelling of the Greek myth of Persephone and Hades. Persephone, the young goddess of spring, has grown up in the mortal realm under the watchful eye of her mother, Demeter. After pledging to train as a sacred virgin, she moves to Olympus, a realm of gods that looks much like a glamorous present-day city. When her roommate Artemis takes her to a party, Persephone meets Hades, the ruler of the Underworld, and their encounter sets off a complicated relationship shaped by gossip, power and the expectations of the gods around them. Smythe's vivid, richly colored art gives each god a distinct look. The book includes a new short story and was a 2022 Hugo Award finalist for Best Graphic Story or Comic.
