Berry Song is a picture book written and illustrated by Michaela Goade about a young Tlingit girl who gathers wild berries with her grandmother as the seasons change. Through the year the two walk the land together, singing as they pick, and the girl learns how to speak to the land and how to listen when it answers. The story honors family, tradition and the bond between people and the natural world that sustains them, and a sense of gratitude runs through every season. Goade's richly colored illustrations follow the changing landscape from one harvest to the next. The book is written for children about 4 to 8 years old and received a 2023 Caldecott Honor.
