Catholic Media Association Book Awards
About the award
The Catholic Media Association Book Awards honor books that reflect Catholic values, promote faith and invite reflection and understanding. They are run by the Catholic Media Association, a Chicago-based organization for journalists, editors, communicators and other Catholic media professionals across North America. Categories range widely, from theology and spirituality to history and books for children.
Publishers, authors and editors may enter books published in the United States or Canada during the previous calendar year, and neither the author nor the publisher needs to be Catholic, as long as the work reflects Catholic values. Judges drawn from editors, authors, academics and others familiar with Catholic publishing award first, second and third places in each category. The honors are presented each summer at the Catholic Media Conference and featured in the association's annual awards issue.
Books published in the United States or Canada in the previous calendar year that reflect Catholic values may be entered by publishers, authors or editors; membership is not required.
Usually announced in July.
