Hanna Cha

Hanna Cha is an illustrator and writer of picture books who spent her childhood between Korea and the United States and now lives in Boston. She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2017.

Cha illustrated The Truth About Dragons (2023), written by Julie Leung, in which a mother tells her child about a journey through two forests, one home to dragons from Western tales and the other to dragons from East Asian mythology. Her richly colored paintings set the two realms side by side, and the book received a 2024 Caldecott Honor. She is also the author and illustrator of the picture book Tiny Feet Between the Mountains.

Her art brings atmosphere and a sense of myth to stories for young children and the families who read with them.
